Lorretta — 2021 Build

Completed Nov 2021 · Handcrafted in Ontario

I first met Quincy Bullen at an open jam at Rouge River Brewing Company. I’d brought along a Tele I’d built, and after trying it, Quincy immediately wanted something similar — but with his own flair. We decided to build him a Strat-style guitar that matched his energy on stage.

“Loretta” features a maple / walnut neck with an upside-down Strat headstock and poplar-burl body wings framed by a maple / walnut edge. Under the hood, she’s powered by GFS Little Killer pickups wired to emulate a GFS SuperStrat circuit, complete with a kill-switch for creative stage work.

After struggling with cheap tuners, Quincy’s guitar now runs GraphTech Ratio tuners — a huge improvement that inspired the glowing review he recorded after the upgrade. She’s fitted with EVO Gold jumbo frets, a trem block, and custom electronics that give her incredible tonal range..

The trem-back plate was hand-painted by our friend Serenna, making Loretta a true collaborative piece. I still treat her as one of my own builds and service her regularly to keep her in top form.
